It’s time we Show up, Stand up and Speak up for our constitution now or ELSE, Shut up. There are nth times we complain about the government inability to bring out constitution on time. Our frustrations, however good cause they may be for are not worth it. But have you really thought beyond that mundane ideology “Ke Garne?” Well its time and here’s an opportunity. The good folks and energetic Nepali youths on Facebook have teamed up to bring out a movement to what they have termed as “Nepal Unites” (परिवर्तनका लागि हामी नेपाली एक) and we invite you to join hands for this noble cause.
Nepal Unites comes from a group of concerned and energetic youths to act for a change. The country is in a desperate need of political stability and statute-drafting not only remains as one of the crucial steps but also a timely challenge. Parties involved in their never-ending wrangle seem to have forgotten their main responsibility and its time we make them aware of what they are there for!
And if you are reading this post today; please make sure to make a note of this event and try to attend it if possible.
Update: The event attended by hundreds of youths of our generation and was really successful. See the Images and video on our latest post A generation awakens with Facebook revolution!
Join us for the kick-off of our “Jyala Pura Liyau, Aba Sambidhan deu” campaign through the Show up. Stand up. Speak up. Else, shut up event this Saturday, May 7, (TODAY) at Maitighar Mandala from 3 to 3:30 p.m.
You’ll be part of a silent show of solidarity. We promise you there will be no lengthy speeches from any politicians, just a few short statements from Nepali citizens. We promise you a group of like-minded youthful change-makers working towards a common agenda of peace, democracy, and development; you’ll cherish their company.
This is the start of many other events, until our message “Enough is enough. Finish your job. Give us our Constitution” is heard loud and clear by the senior politicians and Constitution Assembly members.
Sincerely yours,
a group of conscious, concerned Nepali citizens
Now do not easily underestimate the potential or effect this small step will have on this crucial aspect of our constitution drafting. It’s simply a way to get our voices heard, to make those political heads conscious that we are watching and we are better concerned. And have you forgotten similar Facebook movement we came up last year to end Maoists Bandh in country? It was all possible because of our unity and act. We want a similar unity among all of us to act for this cause now.
We definitely need to act for the change and the only thing we ask you is YOUR small effort! It may or may not be through this movement but your small step will make a big difference. Act now! (it’s now or never)
