Finally after a decade, here comes an official visit to Nepal from Chinese head of government. Wen Jiabao, Prime Minister of China will be visiting Nepal on Saturday (tomorrow) for around four hours.
Although the meeting subject and programs of his visit are kept confidential, it’s revealed that Wen Jiabao will visit Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai during his stay. The Ministry of foreign affairs on to the Nepali side is preparing to welcome his arrival. Wen Jiabao is scheduled to arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport at 11 a.m. and depart for Qatar at 4 p.m.
Chinese ambassador to Nepal Yang Houlan had met Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai at PM’s residence Baluwatar three days ago and had informed him about the visit.
Previously, Wen Jiabao was scheduled to visit Nepal on 20th December which was unfortunately cancelled because of security issues and possible protest fears from Tibetans.
What do you think the meeting subject will be? Asking billions of dollars of investment from Beijing (from Nepali side)? Asking to stem the flow of Tibetan refugees (from Chinese side)?
