Thousands of Nepalis, mostly youths gathered in London last night to remember the victims of the devastating earthquake that rocked Nepal on Saturday, 25th March. The crowd of more than two thousand UK based Nepalis offered their prayers in the vigil held in tribute to those that lost their lives in the disaster.
The event that took place at Trafalgar Square was organised by the London Universities’ Nepali societies (SOAS, UCL, LondonMet, LSE, Queen Mary, Imperial and Westminster) and was supported by many Nepali communities in the UK.
Staying for almost two hours, the amazing crowd showed their solidarity for Nepal. Slogans with loving messages for Nepal were chanted and candles were lit to mourn the deaths from the disaster. Further, the organisers also collected donation for the relief of earthquake victims in Nepal.
Here are few images that I managed to take while participating in the event last night.
