Sarvodaya Nepal

First of all, lots of thanks to everyone who followed our last post “Help Build a School in Nepal” and actually went out for voting. Well, Sarvodaya couldn’t make it to the top. But the good news still is that it actually remained among the top five charities to be awarded by chase community. This enables Sarvodaya to have the fund of 100,000 from US-based Chase Bank.

Here’s an official message from Shisir Khanal, President of Sarvodaya Nepal and Executive Director at Sarvodaya USA.

Dear All,
Thank you for giving your vote, time, energy, compassion, skill and emotions!
At the end of the official vote count, with 15,784 votes Sarvodaya was ranked fifth and one of the runner ups to receive $100,00 from Chase Community Giving Program.

We couldn’t have made it without you!

Even though the grant will come from Chase, the school that will be built will stand as a testament of your compassion and willingness to believe in good that is around us.

Thank you so much for believing in the possibility and participating in the process.

Regards,
Shisir

Sarvodaya aims to use this fund to build a model community run school in Chapagaun, Lalitpur. Jyotidaya Cooperative School in Chapagaun is a local youth run school that provides education to about 300 children in the community. Shisir says “Portion of this fund will also support Sarvodaya’s global programmes in Sri Lanka, India, Haiti and the United States”.

Thanks again to everyone who supported this.
Well, if you want to be updated about this organisation like their official page on Facebook where Shisir promises to update all the progress.
